Scuba equipment

Recreational diving like scuba diving would require everyone to be equipped with every necessary gear. Scuba equipment for scuba divers needs to be selected carefully.

Face mask

A face mask is a very important part of scuba equipment. It serves as a covering and protection for the face from marine objects and clears out visibility for the diver. Its optical density makes objects seem a little larger than their normal size. Scuba equipment face masks used to be generally made from neoprene. But that wasn’t durable. Now that scuba equipment is increasingly becoming popular hence masks are now made of plastic frames, silicon rubber and glass lenses.

Wet suit

A wet suit is efficient scuba equipment that a diver cannot do without. Scuba equipment is meant to protect the diver and a wet suit keeps the divers from losing his body heat. It is made out of neoprene of low density. It keeps the body safe from punctures and injuries from aquatic objects.

Dry suit

Scuba equipment also consists of a dry suit which is used when the water temperatures are expected to be too cold. This suit is water proof and seals the body from getting wet from neck to ankles. Scuba equipment is manufactured for different seasons and a suit made out of Lycra has no thermal properties and is worn in normal temperature conditions.

Fins

Fins are a basic part of scuba equipment. These are used to assist the divers to swim by paddling as they propel further through them. They are made from neoprene at the foot area and plastic for the blade. There are two kinds of scuba equipment fins: adjustable and full foot. Adjustable fins can be worn over diving boots and have a strap at the heels. Full foot is worn as a boot over the diver’s bare foot.

Scuba tanks

Scuba equipment comprises of a heavy component which is the tank. It is a cylinder used to provide the diver with breathable compressed air. A strap is used to fit the tank to the back plate while the BCD can be worn like a coat and fastened with a belt to the front.

The BCD gives buoyancy to the diver and it can be adjusted according to need by discharging some tank air. Lead weight can be worn in pockets that are made in the BCDs. this scuba equipment works to control the swimming buoyancy and maintain swim control.

Regulators

There are two regulator one for stage one and the other for stage two. Scuba equipment tank regulators at the first stage are adjoined to the tank’s top to decrease the pressure of the tank and supply it to the stage two regulators.

Scuba diving computers

Scuba equipment has started using technology for better functionality. Scuba equipment computers are being used widely. These computers estimate the custom table for a dive without having to do the job manually like before. This scuba equipment has the advantage of adjusting the air supply and work as timers, air pressure monitors and also depth gauges.

Scuba equipment includes snorkels which are necessary for safety of divers. These should also be accompanied with a barrel for self drainage.
